Hello! I’m Ellie, I have a background in Outdoor Education and am currently studying Horticulture. I am involved with a variety of social and therapeutic horticulture projects in both Norfolk and Suffolk. In my free time I like to try new activities and be outside as much as possible!

My own creativity

In my own creativity I enjoy experimenting with different techniques and mediums. I am currently enjoying exploring printing, ceramics and illustrations. My favourite artist is Yves Klein.

What inspires me

I am hugely creatively inspired by the small things that make up our everyday experiences. I find the mundane can easily become magical with a creative mind. Similarly I am continually inspired by the enthusiasm of those around me for their passions and projects.

My favourite project

My favourite project with Rock, Paper, Scissors has been half term club. I love seeing our young artists find confidence in their own artistic ability and empowerment in their creativity.

A stand out moment

A stand out moment for me would be during my first project in which we put together art packs to be sent out to young people in Suffolk. I felt a sense of community that I experience every time I work with Rock Paper Scissors.

Why I do this

In working with Rock Paper Scissors I hope to help equip young people with creative tools that they can come back to throughout their lives to help them express themselves and feel empowered in their own ability, sense of self and voice. The ethos of RPS and the conscious view of environmental impact incorporates my own values and I continually look forward to new projects.

The future

I would love for RPS to have a permanent base in which to run our sessions from. Likewise I hope to see the organisation expand into other areas of creative learning. We’re currently working on a possible project incorporating creative and therapeutic horticulture - I’m really excited to see this come to fruition!
