Hi, I’m Jes! I am the lead Illustrator at Rock Paper Scissors.

My own creativity

Ever since I was little, I have had a desire to create, especially portraits. Creativity for me, like most, has been extremely therapeutic, and a way to connect with myself. I use art as a way to navigate feelings, understand and reflect situations and as a form of self-care.

What inspires me

I’m inspired by lots of things, walks, talks, colour, emotion, society and the kids we work with.

My favourite project

I love lots of the projects/activities we have done with the kids at Rock Paper Scissors but one that stands out for me is our Shine Journals, helping produce an emotional wellbeing journal for kids was incredible.

Why I do this

I love Rock Paper Scissors, the conversations with the kids and seeing their art blossom. Their creativity astounds me and inspires my own work too. RPS is more than a job to me, I believe in what we do, have fun and work with an empowering group of women.

A Stand Out Moment

There has been many stand out moments, but it is always great to see the kids work, when they bring in to show us what they've made at home too!

The Future

I would love to see Rock Paper Scissors grow even more and support our community further.
