Hey! I’m Lulu and I am co-director of RPS. I teach Art and Design to all ages and have worked as a designer and illustrator across fashion, textiles, editorial, music and film. My favourite work vibes are that I used to sell my illustrated fashion label through House of Fraser, had my work purchased for different national collections and showcased the film I made with my husband at Tate Britain.

My own creativity

I love to work with paper, print and pattern, using my own hand painted surfaces to collage with and explore shape colour and texture. Sometimes these become textile designs, illustrations, moving image, typography or exist only in my sketchbook (which is my favourite place to be)

My favourite project

My weekly sessions with our STUDIO team are always exciting - my favourite project was creating protest banners for the Climate Change march - seeing them in action was awesome! Our young artists are all passionate about the environment and are really knowledgeable about this subject - they always teach me a thing or two…! MY

Why I do this

My art school education transformed my life in a million ways and I wanted to bring this experience to our young artists.
The children are in charge of their creativity - and the teaching team enables their ideas in a safe space.
I am passionate about building creative connections with children, making space for them to be truly themselves.

A stand out moment

RPS in its entirety is a dream come true for me - our very first Easter Hideout last year was a game changer - realising that there was a need out there for what we do. Seeing our young artists make and create at all of our events is truly awe inspiring for me.

The future

My happy place is an art studio - so a dedicated RPS space to work and grow in would transform the work we do. We have been on the lookout for a little while and feel excited about the possibilities. Our Imagination Kits have been so popular that to build on this to reach more young artists would be alot of fun.
